We Capture

This stage is all about laying the right foundations for good design. We place great value in spending time in this stage and not rushing into solutions.  The cost of changing direction at this stage is relatively trivial when compared with the later stages of design or implementation. So, we start with leaving assumptions at the door. Every situation is different and, whilst we can draw on our experience, our work is never about replicating something we’ve done before.

Capture is all about gathering insight. We use a range of methods to get ‘into the shoes’ of the user and understand the context. Context is everything in this early research – without it, it is easy to miss other influences on behaviour.

At this stage, curiosity is key. Our team question what they see and ask, “why?”.
